Sustainability and the Importance of Ecological Diversity in Agriculture
We Attach Importance to Ecological Diversity in Turkey's Agriculture
We prioritize sustainable farming, state-of-the-art milling and synergy between committed farmers in olive production, effectively managing water resources without harming the soil and the life of living creatures in nature. We follow a meticulous process to hand-pick our olives and produce high quality olive oil in the shortest possible time.
We Support Our Producers
We support innovative production models based on our past experiences so that our producers can grow healthy products, and we aim to deliver your products to you from this geography where the olive tree was born and carried to the present day. Providing a fairer position for producers and farms harmed by unsustainable practices allows us to achieve sustainable, healthy products.
Microclimate and Natural Products
We aim to bring you products produced without the use of pesticides in a geography rich in minerals, where a multicultural community lives together. As part of our “A tree for you” project, we donate hundreds of olive saplings every year to farmers in need and aim to follow their growth process together.
Our Sustainable Production Goals
By preserving the traditional sustainable organic cultivation and processing methods of products grown in different regions of Turkey, we aim to make the most of each olive and produce first-class extra virgin olive oil. We know that olive trees play an important role in the fight against climate change; Therefore, we believe that olive trees can capture 10 tons of carbon dioxide per hectare annually through sustainable agricultural practices
Sustainable Development Goals and Education
Quality Education
By 2030, we aim to significantly increase the number of young people and adults in developing technical and vocational skills for employment, dignified working conditions and entrepreneurship. We lead the spread of environmentally friendly practices in agriculture by providing training to our farmers to develop reliable and healthy production models.
Clean Water and Sanitation
We develop sustainable policies to ensure accessible water services and sustainable water management for everyone, and to contribute to economic growth through the effective use of water resources. We aim to increase water use efficiency in the agricultural sector in order to reduce water consumption and increase ecological diversity appropriate to the region.
Responsible Production and Consumption
Reducing Inequalities
We work to ensure that by 2030, everyone is socially, economically and politically included, regardless of age, gender, disability, race, ethnicity, religion, economic or other status. We aim to increase the role of women in production by developing practices that support women workers and with our female-majority teams collecting olives.
Responsible Production and Consumption Models
Our priorities include ensuring sustainable management of natural resources until 2030 and producing healthy food by collaborating with international inspection organizations in production processes. We are also developing sustainable methods to halve food waste and reduce post-harvest losses.
Waste Management and Transformation
We apply various methods to recycle waste in olive oil production. We implement natural transformation processes in order to produce products such as soap from olive pulp and to produce fuel and fertilizer from other parts of the olive.
We are aware that we can find solutions to the world’s most urgent problems with the value we attach to agriculture. Zeytin is our most important tool for bringing people and businesses together as we create this vision. With our sustainability goals, we aim to offer healthy and delicious products while protecting nature.
